Sue Stinson, FCCLA Advisor
As the Family & Consumer Science teacher at Southern Regional Middle School I introduce 8th grade students to the hands on practical life skills that they will need as they grow into productive adults. This includes consumer skills, financial literacy, career exploration, decision making, nutrition and meal planning, child development and textile arts.I serve as the FCCLA middle school adviser where we take FCS skills and put them into practice with service learning and competitive events.
My goal is a balanced life, juggling the hats I've chosen to wear: teacher, mother, girl scout leader, FCCLA adviser, wife, daughter and students. By constantly learning, I continue to thrive, enjoying the world we have been given.
Our Work
Family and Consumer Education
Family and Consumer Education is an important subject that teaches individuals essential life skills related to managing personal finances, maintaining healthy relationships, and making informed decisions as a consumer.
Our FCCLA chapter has provided resources, support, and opportunities for students to develop leadership skills, participate in community service, and engage in personal growth through our various programs and events. Join us in making a positive impact on the lives of students and families in our region!
Career Development Workshops
Career development workshops provide valuable information and resources to help individuals enhance their skills and advance in their chosen career paths.
Leadership Training Events
Leadership training events provide individuals with the opportunity to develop new skills and knowledge that will enable them to effectively lead and inspire others.
Community Service Projects
Community service projects allow individuals to give back to their community by volunteering their time, skills, and resources to make a positive impact. We have partnered with BookSmiles to spread book wealth to students in underserved communities by collecting new, like new, and gently used books. Currently, we are planning a book drive to support this cause. These services reflect our chapter's commitment to fostering personal growth, community engagement, and the development of life skills that will serve individuals and families for years to come.
